Posted on another thread my best team since I started going to footy in 1970.
My Richmond team:

B: Sheedy, Clay, Turner
HB: Bourke, Jess, Rawlings
C: Wood, Stewart, Rioli
HF: Broderick, Hart, Bartlett
FF: Balme, Roach, Richardson
F: Lee, Wiley, Weightman
Int: Mitchell, Knights, Green, Cloke

Not a bad team???

Pretty good, and you left out Geoff Raines, Bill Barrott, Tony Free, Benny Gale, and probably many others who are legends of the club.

Re: My best Richmond team since 1970

only one current player says alot about the current mob!

good team...but I would go for Wayne Campbell(multiple B & F's, 300ish games) Merv Keane, Paul Sproule(great finals player) and Geoff Raines(all premiership players) before Turner, Mitchell, Broderick and Barrot(didn't play enough footy after 1970).

Knights would be in the 18 and Rowlings to the interchange(al though a huge fan)

I'll just slap a quick team together from the players I remember playing from my time as a Tiger supporter.

B Keane Bourke Malthouse
HB M Gale Jess Rollings
C Wood Raines Rioli
HF Wiley Richardson Campbell
FF Mitchell Roach B Gale
F Lee Weightman Free
Int From. Knights Cloke Broderick Palm

Thanks MB.But i have to change it.i feel ashamed i forgot about the best CHF in the history of the vfl/afl :-[
sorry Richo but your not that good

Bourke Clay Green
Cambell Jess Keane
Raines Barrot Riolli
Bartlett Hart Richo
Brown Roach Tambling
Lee Coughlan Weightman
Crowe(did he retire b/f 1970?) Free Sheedy Stewart

Unlucky:Bowden Johnson Knights Wiley Wood

On reflection maybe Stewart to start on the ground and Richo on the bench
and Cloke & Rowlings on to the 'unlucky list.'

Bourke      Gaspar     Sheedy
Campbell   Jess         Keane
Raines       Rioli          Coughlan
Bartlett      Hart         Richardson
Wiley         Roach      Broderick

Lee           Stewart    Weightman

Knights  Free  Cloke  Lambert

Starting from 1970 this is my Tigers team

B     Kevin Sheedy    *smile* Clay          Darren Gaspar
HB   Merv Keane      Jimmy Jess        Francis Bourke
C     Maurice Rioli     Ian Stewart      Bryan Wood
HF   Matt Knights     Royce Hart       Matt Richardson
F     David Cloke      Michael Roach   Dale Weightman
R     Mark Lee          Robert Wiley     Kevin Bartlett
I/C  Mike Green  Scott Turner  Geoff Raines  Wayne Campbell
Coach   Tom Hafey

The famous centre line of Bourke, Barrot and Clay was all but finished by 1970, Barrot's final year. Clay was premiership fullback in 1973-4 and Bourke moved down back in later years, finishing up as our premiership fullback in 1980.

Iknow the era's are different and I recognise Hart was a tremendous player but if you were to compare the styles of Royce & Richo then in my humble opinion  Matty is the better CHF.. His aerobic capacity & contested marking are terrific.
