didn't think it was worth starting a thread on the americas cup, so i thought it would be a good ides to start a thread to discuss the more obscure or minor sports....

8-1 down to win 9-8. has there been a bigger comeback in the history of sport? if so, i'd like to know what it was...

i reckon it was rigged. i didnt even know the AC was on until the Aussies Yanks had come back to about 8-5 down. the two teams prob got together and agreed to let the aussies kiwis get out to the lead, then let the Aussies yanks come back. then they race the last race fair and square.

I guess international rules comes under minor sports. Just saw via twitter that Australia got thrashed last night. Didn't even know it was on. Time to end the farce and dump the sport. No one cares

The other major sporting event on boxing day......The Sydney to Hobart.

One of the biggest ocean races in the world and this year should be one of the best.

The new 100fter Comanche turned up last year and was beaten. However last year Comanche was brand new, so now, with 12 months under their belt she should be more competitive. She recently set the 24 hours speed record for a monohull.

Interstingly Wild Oats are worried about Comanche, they took to her with a chainsaw, cut the bow off and added some length. Wild Oats XI (or is it WildOats XI.O.3) is the biggest in the fleet

But the sexiest boat in the race this year will be Rambler 88. Smaller than Comanche and Wild Oats, but apparently she is light and very fast. I don't care I'd Rambler 88 is fast, she is hot, damn hot.
