From the second half of last year our midfield has been poor.

Players are getting older and simply don’t have the speed. Cotchin & Edwards;
or have been played there because although slow and can’t turn, they are the best available, Graham & Ross.

The 666 and to a lesser extent the stand rule also add emphasis to our increased midfield weakness.

Don’t see how we can make the 8 this year. Unless Martin and Prestia return that seems pretty certain.

No use complaining but it is time to start experimenting. Both Parker and to a lesser extent Daw, have done OK.
IMO it is about time to give Short ago as a mid? Sonsie and Stacky should also be close
While Bolton is one of our most skilled and played there today, he weakened as the game went on, and lacks strength at this point of his career. He should continue to play mainly as a forward. Ditto Baker.

Cotch and Edwards have been magnificent contributors but both appear to have hit a wall, with both a shadow of their former selves.
Roles in defence maybe the answer but if that fails, (maybe along with Caddy), they might be considering their positions before the mid season draft. No shame in that.
