We might'nt have had much Tigers joy in the AFL, but in a couple of local leagues some Tiger teams have won flags.
In EFNL Premier division, Balwyn Tigers beat East Ringwood by 2 points.

In Division 1 Mitcham Tigers beat Park Orchards by 40 points.
So there'll be 2 Tigers teams in Premier division next year.

In Division 2, Boronia Hawks won their 2nd, 2nd division flag in 2 years. They didn't get promoted this season due to a league restructure. They will now be promoted to 1st Division next year.

Division 3 premiers Surrey Park won their 2nd flag in a row & will head to 2 Division.

Scoresby won the Division 4 flag & will head to 3rd Divy. They've had a dramatic fall over the last 10 or so years formerly being a 1st/Premier stalwart.

In NFNL 1st Division Heidelberg Tigers won. I should add that they beat Montmorency who are the Magpies. Beautiful :))

Please post results you know of from local competitions you're interested in.

Cheltenham Rosellas play Dingley in the Southern Footy League 1st Division Granny tomorrow. The Rosellas won the flag last year coached by former Tiger Des Ryan. He retired & was replaced by another former Tiger Justin Pickering who was an assistant to Ryan for a few years.

Boronia have already locked away all key players for next year. I expect they will go close to winning Div 1 next year while their new club rooms get built.

Excellent news tigers80. Looking forward to seeing the new clubrooms. The old ones are pretty dated, being 1st used in 1977 with very few renos done since.
Tormore oval itself is excellent & has been for many years. The old Park Crescent ground was an absolute bog hole. :)

Devonport beat Wynyard in the North West Tassie league yesterday to win their fourth flag in a row.

I forgot to mention that was Mitcham's 2nd flag in a row, they also couldn't go up to Premier division this year due to the restructure, now of course they will.

Funnily enough, Mitcham's trajectory has almost mirrored Richmond's in recent years. In 2015, Mitcham broke a 34-year premiership drought - Richmond obviously broke a 37-year wait in 2017. Mitcham has won four flags since 2015, and Richmond three since '17.

Two Tiger clubs emerged from decades in the wilderness as modern powerhouses of their respective leagues.

Yackandandah won all five grades in the TDFL which is great as they are one of the most unsuccessful clubs in Australia with about four or five 1st grade premierships in 150 years.
