Post your best memories of meeting Richmond players.

My best one would have to be meeting Nathan Brown. I was 9 or 10 years of age and I got a photo with 5 other players including Nathan Brown and I got a photo with Nathan and we got home and tried to load it on the computer, but it didn't work. I was really sad because I wanted to show my friends at school. :)

was he a tigers player at the time?

Meeting Roy Wright at my fathers house and listening to the two chat about the 50's through to the 60's.

Meeting Arthur Joe Murdoch and his family at the Richmond Museum, and listening to Joe announce that he knew every single player listed on the Richmond locker. his last public appearance.

The list could go on and on, I have been lucky to meet alot of the old timers which I interview.

Hi Rhett,

Which player that you met or say top 3 (if its hard to chose) would you say had an affect to say woah! due to their presence. PS - Can't name your dad ;D ( hahah ).

I was so keen when growing up, even now that I am older I get too awestruck to get out something to say to break the ice, when I have bumped into a past player.

All the best
Al

Hi there

From the top of my head:

1) Sid Dockendorff, a man who lived through every Richmond Premiership- knew names of all players, where the grew up, what their occupation was, who they married and when they died.

2) Blair Campbell - this man has such a fascinating look at football and his speech and style of delivery is enthralling

3) Tom Hafey- just hearing him talk about all the places he has been too in the country, and his committement to that, is ever lasting

Blair Campbell eh, now there is a blast from the past. He was also a very good cricketer too. I played footy with his younger brother Chris for a year or so. He was a bit smaller than Blair but not a bad player either.
