Couldnt help notice Cuz grab Lids's jumper as they walked out after half time and pushed him to the front of the team to lead them out....BLOODY HELL!!!

Lids to me looks like a sook....yes he can be a good player but to me he gets introverted very quickly....

Cuz grabbed him and threw him to the front, and by the gesture was saying, "Cmon Lids for C%^% sake, look like you wanna be here"......

In my book we only have one leader, and he'll just about win the B & F....

Very worrying... :-\
 
Lid's was our best last night by a country mile.

SHOULD be Captain next year!

Chris Newman has done ok but I think he is found wanting at times.
The best player does not mean the best captain...in fact Deledio to me looks like an absolute dud for capt role...I think he needs to work on his game with the Damain Hardwick regime...there is clearly only one person that fits the bill on our list atm...and beleive me id give it to him for next year and hopefully maybe deledio, cotchin will arise into that position. #32.

I saw that to show some Leadership , Be proud to take that mantle.
If cuz has to do that Lids is not ready to be a capatain. Grow Some Balls

Tend to agree. Despite being a big Deledio fan who reckons he often draws unfair comment from the media, I concede there's something missing from his game.
 
You can be dragged down to B Grader's levels especially when your surrounded by so many in one team!
 
I saw the incident and thought it was telling, but then I remember Cuz used to outshine Judd for onfield leadership when Judd was captain too.

Lids probably does just need to concentrate on his own game for a few more years though

Do you think Ben's game has been better than Lids this season, and last night in particular? If a players' game is a reflection on his captaincy suitability Lids would be by far the best candidate from last night. Ben might have pushed Lids to the front of the pack but Lids' footy did the talking when it counted.
 
Cuz offeres us a lot in terms of leadership and last night was a good example. However, I'm stunned that many on here would have hm instantly installed as our captain.

His history, the risk of him transgressing at any time, the knifes edge he lives on, the short time he has been at the club means he should not be our captain. He will only be with us for another seaosn and I doubt that he feels that he deserves it anyway.

Newman has done a more than adequate job in a very difficult season and he can hold this position until we develop Lids or Cotch into our next captain.

Some are being very hard on Lids. He is growing as a footballer every week and will become one of the elite players of the next 5 years and hopefully, a wonderful leader also.

Forget about Cousins. He has 1 or 2 years left max. We need to look into our current crop to see if there are any future potential leaders there. I think we have a few. Deledio is one, Cotchin and Reiwoldt others. Again I cant believe the flak Deledio gets. He's 22 for god's sake. If he turns out not to be a leader then so be it. Not everyone is made out to be so but he has time on his side so why the pressure on him to shine out as a leader right now?

Dont forget Judd never wanted to be captain. It wouldnt be too difficult to out shine someone who didnt want to be captain.
 
Cousins is a leader without the C next to his name no need to make him captain I think if Lids was made captain you would have Cousins really helping him develop I have seen them over the past few weeks starting to gel & read each others games add Cotchin to that chemistry & I think we will be a lot more competitive. I would make Lids Captain not that Newman has done a bad job but with a new young coach might be good to wipe the slate clean & put 2009 in the past.
