RIP great man. More influential than anyone in Hawthorn's rise from easy beats to world beaters.

His Grand Son Josh plays his 250th tonight

RIP

Only found out the relationship with JKS recently but apparently being traded to the Swans was not popular with a lot of Hawthorn folks at the time... given his subsequent career you can see why.

I couldn't work it out with josh.
We drafted and recruited anything that looked like a footballer.
But we never chased him considering we all knew how hard it wouldve been for him to get games ahead of Mitchell, Lewis, Hodge and Buygyoune.
I remember a game at the G, when josh went for Goal and missed it, causing Hawthorn to lose and that seemed to be the end of hlm at hawthorn.
Very good and consistant midfielder

Over the years I have seen him around in the area I live in. A couple of times he was in a deli I go to and he was just a very understated genuine person. Happy to talk to people, almost embarrassed that others knew who he was.
In the old vernacular he was a gentleman

Yep set the new standard at Glenferrie that got them on the Premiership winning list then manifested with the great era from 83 to 94.

RIP John Kennedy Senior .

A VFL great.

It’s sobering as someone in their mid 50’s seeing the passing of the some of the game’s greats in recent years (Kennedy, Hafey, Jeans etc.). But then I’m equally uplifted by the knowledge and memories of having lived and witnessing said greatness during my life to date.

Kennedy's Commandos.

Put a stamp on the Hawks to the power they have become.

Ironic that the Hawks play North this week.
