Interesting history.
This is a photo of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his family in 1920, outside the Grand Hotel, now the Windsor.
Doyle was a literary genius who wrote the Sherlock Holmes novels, and The Lost World, essentially the precursor to Jurassic Park.
Doyle paid a goodwill visit to Australia after the "Great War".
He and his wife attended the Grand Final, seeing Richmond win the premiership.
He said Australian Rules was the most exciting of the football codes.

more interesting than The Beautiful Game, where you can go a month without a goal?

and blokes like jack Ginavan and Nick Watson work for a lazy Arab and his gelded wives, on $50m a year?

blow me down.
