Like all of us was disgusted by last night, the week before and the week before that.

As well as cleaning up the dud's nothing would bring me more pleasure this summer to see Damian and a completely new batch of assistants/medicos/fitness staff flog the living suitcases out of our list.

These guys are so selfish, soo soft and gutless that they don't deserve their pay.

Wearing our jumper is an honour, but for the last 8 years most of the players who have worn our jumper have simply gone through the motions week after week.

Smash them Damian, make them run till they bleed, sit up till they spew, practice tackle to exhaustion, shepherd/chase in 30 degree heat till they collapse.

I want to go to preseason training and see these guys HURT, just like we do.

And don't give me the Generation Y crap, flog them until they become the tough uncompromising team we all crave.

Well said. I had a gutful of Wallace saying you need to treat Gen Y's softly to get the most out of them.... Lord have mercy on Hardwick, because what he has been left with is a team who would not be competitve at VFL level.
 
Im with you Tigerjoe.

Flog the living suitcases out of the list and show them what it is like to really hurt.

Those with the right attitude and who want to play will rise above the rest.

Might break a few of them down though.

"The tiger jumper will not hit the floor while he is here" suggests what is to come...not only will he smash them....they will finally will learn to love the jumper.
 
u can only live in hope... itd b nice 2 c a fresh batch of assistant coaches with hard ilk of hardwick to ensure there is no compromise this time 'round...
 
Please Damien and Craig, no shortcuts.

I think there is at least a young base of decent players to work with (albeit smaller than I used to think). That puts us ahead of 5 years ago. Just ensure we do the rebuild properly this time.
 
I don't think just flogging them on the track is going to accomplish anything other than ruin a few youngsters. Buckenara tried that with Sydney and had no success, in fact he actually destroyed one kid's career. Train them hard, yes, but don't just do it because a few supporters are pissed off with what they perceive as a lack of effort. There's another thread here that pointed out what needs to be done and that's to get these guys to bond as a team, once they start playing as a team and working for each other, you'll find that things will improve. Once they can do that then the skills need to be worked on until they can execute them on autopilot.

I Agree

What does making duds run till they spew acheive

Get rid of the duds and recruiters do there job properly and then we mite be going somewhere

The point is to show them that hard work and busting your guts is what is required, not half hearted soft efforts like those put in by most every week.

Our guys don't work hard enough, they cruize.

Richo and Cuz would be the only ones to truly bust their arses.

Whilst I agree that the team has to bond and work together,

Success comes from hard work, not bludging, which is what this club has done for far too long.

Exactly look at three of the most dominant pre season runners of recent years, Hyde, Jackson and White ........ all duds ....nuff said

I just want them to play for each other. Win games and have fun.

That probably translate into extremely hard work, like nothing they have ever seen before.

YOU CAN RECRUIT ANYONE YOU LIKE BUT RECRUITS DON'T MAKE FOOTBALL CLUBS SUCCESSFULL

IT'S SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN THE OTHER WAY AROUND
