Hey Rosy, why are there so many more guests online than usual?

In the past month or so have noticed that not only are there at least 100+ guests on line when it is normally around 30, but PRE members online numbers are also alot greater. Correct me if I am wrong but something like 400+ were online during the Adelaide game.

What has caused this?
 
I've noticed this too over the last couple of weeks or so.

Unemployment.....Divorce.....Winter.....Depression.....Boredom.....Loneliness...... ;D

The way it's measured has changed.
 
Higgs Bosun registered and suddenly we had mass. :-[

Traffic has increased recently for some reason. The Connors/Dusty day resulted in the most users we'd ever had online. I think the 734 was only logged in users too so it would probably have been at least double that reading the forum.

It updates all the time TF. Depends on the time of day and what's happening. I doubt it would show 400 most of the day every day. For example 8 am now and there are 92 guests and 62 users.
 
I'm not sure how the old board was setup but this one is configured for a 2 hour User online time threshold. That means anyone that visited the board in the last 2 hours will show up as a visitor or guest currently on the board.

If that's increased from the old board that might explain the larger numbers we see.

It's nothing to do with the different boards. This board was set up exactly the same as the old one but was changed to the 120 minute threshold recently to get certain info our hosts wanted.

We also have increased traffic no matter what it shows on the user online stats. We also recently smashed our most online number.

734 is an impressive number for a fan site, even with the 2 hour log in thing you guys have been talking about.

Well it seems impressive to me anyway.
 
Would it have anything to do with new mutlimedia hardware never actually logging out?

I'm logged on on my iPhone pretty much 100% of the time now I think.
