Henneman is a Miller Target

According to some people... Aaron Henneman from Essendon is on Millers hit list of potential recruits. He doesnt get senior regular games at Essendon and would help us down back in a key position post.

He's certainly the type we need to bolster the backline - big and strong, but not too slow. Worry a little about his injury record. What would he cost us in trades/picks ?

All I heard was he is on a secondary target list...that is there are 2 lists floating around. The first list is of gun players out of contract-my info is they have the agreement of 1 such player and the second list is of players not getting regular games at other clubs such as Henneman at Essendon. I dont know what the deal is I havent heard but Sheedy will ask for a relatively high pick or a player of similar ability- in his eyes anyway. Personally I think Henneman would be good for us.

I have suggested Henneman as a player to target on numerous occasions. He can play down back, and ruck at a pinch. He is mobile with good skills.

Send them Holland

Well the bombers did try desperately to get Ray Hall last year and the Tigers said no.

I think they offered 2 out of the 3 (Blumfield,Carracella and Heffernen) and it was take you pick. Deal didn't go through because the Tigers would not deal Hall

how about we offer, Hall for Henneman and a 2nd round pick. I'd be happy with that.

Henneman is a guy who is not getting a regular game at essendon. Mainly due to injuries but also due to Fletcher, Wellman, Jacobs and Lucas playing well down back.
I agree, I think a suitable trade for him would be Ray Hall as a straight swap.

I think everyone knows that I have been very disappointed with Ray Hall this season. Hence, why I would have no problem if they traded him.

DF - fiar deal but I reckon a straight swap should be the first option.

Though I'd would look at trying to offload Hall to the Doggies (they desperately need big blokes) plus another player (eg Bowden/Pettifer) + say our 4th round draft pick for their 2nd pick (overall pick number 3)

Remember if the ladder stays the way it is now the first 6 picks would be

1 - Bullies Priority pick
2 - Carlton - priority pick (they haven't been stripped of that)
3 - Bullies (1st rd)
4 - Melbourne (1st rd)
5 - Geelong (1st rd)
6 - Richmond (1st rd)

We trade for the Bullies 1st round pick (no. 3) then we have great bargaining power to nab a quality established player from one of the top teams (eg Power, Stevens) by offering our 1st round pick (no.6)

Henneman is on the extended bench for the Bombers, but expect him to play. Sheedy has said he wants to have a look at him before the finals.

perhaps - Bowden + our 2nd round pick for Henneman?

Sheeds loves a challenge and working on these special project type players. I reckon Joel would fit the bill nicely for Sheeds ;D

I'd be happy with Hall for Henneman, but if we can get a pick aswell it's a bonus, and if they Dons still want Hall, we could get one.

Melbourne are still in priority pick territory too, so we have pick 7 as it stands now

Now we are talking about some half reasonable trades. I'd send Hall and a 3rd round pick to the Bummers for Henneman in a flash. (Using a 2nd round pick might be too steep.) I'd give them Holland in any deal in a flash as well.

Interesting Neil Balme saying on 927 this morning that Bowden would get a game at Scumwood. Good. Send him there for anything !

On the subject of players like Stevens and Power, whilst they are certainly good players, they are so as outside players in very good teams. I reckon we need more tough skilful on-baller types (as opposed to this confused reference to mid-fielders all the time) the ilk of Coughlan. There is way too much of a burden on him at the moment. I reckon we need to get players who can develop more into the Riccuito, Voss, West, Goodwin, Chapman, Ratten etc. mould of player.

Redford, currently we don't have a 3rd round to trade because that is committed to taking Tom Roach
