To help the AFL monitor crowds at games for different things that need to be stamped out they will need to employ experts. And to ensure those experts are correctly recognised they'll need some sort of friendly identification so you can approach the right expert if you want to complain.

Look I know people are objecting to more presence but I like to go to the footy and hear people keeping the language more or less acceptable and not assaulting people.

If you’re not a problem person then these security people shouldn’t bother you.
It’s the putrid minority (there’s that word again) that lead to jails, police, speed limits, door locks and you name it.

The Goon squad are more than happy to prowl up and down the walk ways glaring at and intimidating fans, they're all over a few insignificant nuffers who get a bit excited n yell too loudly n hop up and down a bit.
But the bastards are no where to be seen when someone goes over the top and a blue looks like starting. No chance of a couple of them coming over n separating or standing between to prevent any chance of idiots escalating. Disappear n hide up their own orifices instead of doing what needs to be done to quieten things down, then when the *smile* hits the fan it's the plod who have to try n stop what's already blown up, n they're not very good at that these days either. More interested in reviewing the video footage after the event n then appealing to the public to dob in the trouble makers.
