Dale Weightman is still hoping to make the Victorian Team depsite his car accident which is likely to sideline him for another week.( His car overturned on way to footy clinic near Horsham with Justin Pickering on board and had to be pulled out by Gary Pert). Weightman has represented the Big V 10 times winning the Simpson medal the previous year.
Summary of some of the questions aked to him
- When asked if wanted to captain Big V after previous captain Roger Merrett was dropped, he was just hoping to get a game.
- Missed Tiger Victory against Melbourne, with Richmond winning they were now 9th but a game and 8% out of the five but playing third team Carlton in Round 13.
- Happy with his own form, said Jewell still believes can make the eight. Has great respect for Tony as a coach as he is a plumber by trade, straight forward no fancy stuff.
- Said it was no coincidence Richmond were winning with Mark Lee back in form.
- Richmond were more of a predictable team in 86 the way they played than they were in 1985, with style of play kicking the ball long.
- Rioli re appearance had helped and was starting to show some of his old magic.
