Halloween is growing it's presence in Australia.

Initially I was against this celebration as I saw it as American but now with a young child who absolutely loves to celebrate it, I've changed my mind entirely and have grown to love it.
Even going to carve a pumpkin this year..

What do you reckon are you a fan of it?

I love America and a lot of their culture, especially music, food and cars, also like NFL. My girlfriend is American. Not into halloween myself, I think its a marketing stooge, along with Valentine's Day, Mothers and Fathers' day, but who am to deny a kid some fun?

Similar. I hate it as its another example of the over-Americanisation of Australia. But having said that who am I to stop kids going to strangers houses asking for "candy"?

I used to hate it.

But my wife went to high school and college in the States so she's right into it. Apparently the kids part of Halloween is just part of it. The adults party hard too.

We also live in an area with plenty of families from all over the world. Halloween is a fairly big thing here with all the houses decorating, the kids trick or treating planned for a friendly Sunday evening before the big day, and houses needing to leave a sign on their door to opt out.

My kids have their costumes ready. Resistance is futile.

Thats the thing, theoretically I hate it, but in practise kids having harmless fun is good, you'd have to be a serious wowser to stop some excited kids from having fun
