Great Game

Was a great game last night. The result wasnt great for us, but it was a good, desperate, hard contest. The skills were shocking, but the desperation was there. I enjoyed it and was glad were able to come back.

Crawf on Brown, that was a weird one. Crawf had an epidural before the game. He has been hampered for a while, so I thought he did well.

Last on the ladder. At least we cant go much lower. We just have to keep plugging away and we shall get a win eventually.

What a difference a week can make in footy!!!

Totally agree. Richmond v Hawthorn wasnt a great game to watch. Too many mistakes by both sides.

The only reason St Kilda won by a point was because of the umpires.

Totally agree nwonash ... talk about the AFL head honchos not liking Brisbane ... what about the umpires (field and goal)! ... St Kilda probably deserved to win but Brisbane can certainly blame the umpires (especially the goal umpire who awarded a point at the end of the game when it was clearly out on the full)

Totally agree with you Hungry4footy. St kilda probably deserved to win but how amateurish is the AFL? Who trains these goal umpires anyway, Helen Keller?

I've got a feeling one of our ex coaches may find himself looking for a new job if he doesn't pull his finger out re his umpiring responsibilities.

Got to wonder whether the AFL has got it in for Brisbane.

It highlights the need to strengthen our defence with tall and physically imposing players who can run and attack. Brisbane, St.Kilda, Essendon and Fremantle have these players in abundance and when Collingwood were going well their defence was more imposing and proactive. Consequently Zantuck needs to be encouraged to run more, which he hasn't been doing as much as he used to.

After the possible win at the 'G against the Bulldogs, I might enjoy myself again by going to the Dome to watch the Saints spank the Wobbles ..........sheer pleasure.....

Ive never paid much attention to Nine-chins commentary but yesterdays last Qtr of Port V Coll was as disgraceful bias and over the top commentary as you'll ever hear.
As for his "media hat on" *smile*...after hearing that call someone at channel 9 has to find the balls to stop him calling fagpies matches for credibilities sake.

Yeah, gee I had a laugh at the commentary. Even Dermie and Dennis went all pro collingwood because of eddie's presence. I don't think they acknowledged one free kick to port in the second half.

And when the crowd started chanting "Ediie is a wanker" eddie got all fiesty and emotional and rabbited on about being proud of such an honourable loss. Bottom line is, they are 1 - 5.

And BTW, port have more injuries than anyone.

And how many times did he bring up O'Brees stats in the last qtr...5 times!!! Someone then pointed out that Cornes had a similar amount and Eddie mumbled Oh err yeah umm good effort...
