I've been a bit of a lone hand on the boards defending Gas since his contract was renewed.

Most people have had some speculation on how much he's paid etc. Most people have no idea really though, and their opinions were possibly influenced by his trial by media at the time.

If Gas had been there to shut Lynch down last night the result could have been very different.

It's not often an opposition full forward gets that much freedom when Gas is in the team.

To me that makes him worth his weight in gold, even though he's probably nowhere as near as well paid as most people are speculating.

Hope all's still on track for a round 1 return Gas. We need you in the team bigtime.

Gaspar is a great stopper, but his disposal is shocking. Not only that but he seems to lose his equilibrium whenever he has the ball in his hands and you are always holding your breath when he needs to do something semi-creative to get us out of a jam in the backline. He is not too quick mentally, and gets found wanting plenty of times, turning the ball over or getting caught holding the ball.

He usually cops 4 goals off Lynch every time we play Brisbane anyway, so i don't think he would have faired much better than say Zantuck did. (Though at least Lynch wold not have got those couple of easy goals early).

I too Rosy, am a huge Gas fan. Although Ty is a very good player who I think will be around for years to come, he's no *smile* when it comes to the FB position.

Yeah, his disposal when kicking lets him down but every other aspect of his game is right up there with the best.

How many defenders in the comp. can keep Tarrant, Lloyd, Neitz, Brown, etc. to a minimum every time. His reading of the ball is 2nd to none, his hand disposal is good and his in tight work is also very good.

If we got numbers to the ball as we should be doing, he should be able to hand it off to someone with good foot disposal therefore eliminating his kicking deficiencies.

That last part line was just me making excuses for his obvious lack in that department!!!
