I thought with four tough games in a row - Pies, Dogs, Swans and Dees, we needed to split them bare minimum 2-2. We need this one today cause Swans and Dees will be the toughest of those four games, and we don't want to be going into them 0-2 :notworthy:

Wet in town at the moment. Not sure that will suit us but we are at the G and not the basketball stadium down the road.Tiges by 27 points and think Martin will be quiet.Pickett to continue his run of no reports.

They have 10 players 190cm+, with three of their four subs 190+.

We have 7 players over 190cm+ in the 23, and from the four subs just Miller named is over 190cm.

spluttering april footy from tigers

Marlion to do the best Trent Cotchin impersonation the world's ever seen,

And drag us over the line

By 4pts.

Tyler Sonsie shows the football world why hes better than nick daicos and will ashcroft put together

I can’t see us doing anything other than continuing to play in short bursts, and that’s not enough these days. We may scrape home, but more than likely just fall short again. I don’t think 2023 is our year.

No doubt the crafty Bevo will somehow use the management of Cotchin and Riewoldt as a motivation for his team. Why? Because you save that for the teams you expect to beat.

Two days on and I am still uncomfortable about these selections.

It's a season defining game today. If we loose with the Swans and Dee's to come there is every chance we will be one win and a draw from our first six games.

The tough early season draw doesn't suit our pattern of starting the year slowly and building. It was always going to be tough to integrate Taranto and Hopper early on and get the team balance right. A massive day for Sampson to compete and not let the Dogs double and triple team Lynch.

I reckon we'll see how important Jack and Junior are today.

Doubt we'll kick more 8 goals.

Yeah. MRJ for all his fumbling is really the only forward who has been applying forward pressure. We usually rate that aspect but suddenly not so much.

Crickey, game over, season over …………

I am expecting a similar game to last year - dogs come out firing, we look slow and disjointed and doggies look a million dollars, PRE goes into meltdown, Emergency Depts around the county get a wave of tiger supporters suffering self inflicted wounds, heart attacks, then the tigers build pressure in the second, even the contests and gets back in the game, fights breakout in the doggies cheer squad as we run away comfortably with the 4 pts in the second half.

On Monday Harvey Norman sells out of phones, smart tvs and the like with sales going to doggie supporter 2 to 1 to tiger supporters.

Score - who cares, last year my son kept score of the number of doggie supports escorted from the ground.

Just a normal Saturday arvo at the G.

I got that rare feeling we might smash a team today. Let's see what happens. Department of youth to shine - sonz, bolton, cumberland, ryan

There's an oft quoted myth that a champion team will beat a team of champions.

In reality, a champion team is a team of champions.

Further, you can't take the champions out of the team, and hope to still be a champion team.

The Champions missing since we were last champions:

Astbury
Houli
Broad
Short
Edwards
Lambert
Cotchin
Castagna
Riewoldt

Choosing not to play Cotchy and Jack means we are just a young, unstable team.

I won't be surprised if we lose by ten plus goals today.
