This is not just with us but it does seem do happen often when we play. Why is it that when a ball is bombed into an attacking teams forward line quiet often the defender is better off at picking off where the ball will drop and proceed to mark it with ease or sometimes in a pack under pressure? Is it because good defenders are better at reading kicks and play on instinct once the ball leaves the attacking players foot or are forwards drilled to lead to a certain spot expecting that's where the ball will be kicked and not playing on instinct?. We seem to get caught out this way too often and it costs us on the score board dearly at times. To add to this frustration we don't seem to have a decent permanent crumbing forward when there is a forward contest and the ball falls to ground and it is often then ran out of our defence with ease at times.
