appears to be the latest fad. and they tend to be really bushy, ned kelly-eque beards. WTF is up with that?

As bad as planking. No where near the real beards of the 70s. Time for a shave.

I'm very impressed with the current assortment of player beards.

I especially like Ty Vickery's "Wolverine" look.

Hipster beards are everywhere at the moment. Go into any cafe around Fitszroy, Collingwood or Richmond and you will see half a dozen.

More common than fixie bikes!

yep. beardiness is cool, has been for 3 or 4 years. Generally speaking though once footy players are on to a trend its on the way out.

(ever tried to ride a fixie? Its a bit like trying to bath an uncooperative bull terrier, or punching yourself in the face. Why make it so hard for yourself? give me freewheeling anyday)

as someone who has had a beard, usually short, for over 15 years, im not overly happy with this trend. even less so now footy players have taken to it.

'I had a beard before it was cool', no worries Brodders 8-

will never, ever grow a beard (how itchy must it be?). the less hair on me, the better. no tatts for me either for that matter.

90% of the bearded players belong to teams that are 0-2, don't they.

Shave them off, they look terrible anyway.

Good for you but really don't know how it's even a talking point to be honest. Tatts, beards, who cares really, it's fashion....it comes and goes (well except the tatts :hihi).

vinpaul i just don't get it... is it a bet or something? maybe i'm not supposed to get it. as i said, i don't like hair on myself (or females for that matter - excluding the head of course, lol). i wonder what the females think of beards on guys...?

as for tatts... i personally have no issues with them, although i think the laser tattoo removal business will be making squilliions in the coming years.

Right on. The day Jack Watts starts sporting a Ned Kelly you know it's time to shave.

I've been a 3 0r 4 day growth guy for most of my adult life, more thorugh laziness than anything. Every now and then i get the urge to go the full beard, but that 7 or 8 days in the itchiness gives me the *smile* and I always puss out and shave it off.

Fair enough Ian. Don't know what it's about really, just a fad that has caught on I suppose.
As for tatts yeah you're probably right. Wouldnt want any of mine removed but if I had my time over again I would choose different designs for a couple, can't worry about it though :)
