The following players have been given permission by the AFL to play state league games this weekend because of their lack of match play in 2003.

Richmond: Marc Dragicevic, Ray Hall, Duncan Kellaway, William Nicholls, Matt Shir, Ty Zantuck

For anyone interested, Coburg play Box Hill at Punt Road, 5.00pm, Friday.

The clock will be turned back at Tigerland this Friday evening with Punt Road Oval hosting a full-scale VFL practice match between the Coburg Tigers and the Box Hill Hawks.

With AFL rules forbidding inter-club practice matches the week before the premiership season kicks off, this VFL trial will provide a number of Richmond players with some much-needed game time in the lead-up to Round 1.

The likes of Duncan Kellaway, Ty Zantuck and Billy Nicholls will line up for the Coburg Tigers.

Richmond sought -- and received - special permission from the AFL to allow those players to make an appearance for the Coburg Tigers on Friday evening due to the fact their pre-seasons had been interrupted because of injury.

"This will be a great opportunity for Tiger fans to come down to Punt Road Oval and watch a game at the famous ground," said Richmond's Football Manager Greg Hutchison.

"They'll also get the chance to watch some of our boys push for senior selection in our Round 1 side. Hawthorn also will have a few senior players in the Box Hill side, so it shapes as a pretty interesting game."

The match is scheduled to start at 5pm and entry is free.

And an excellent opportunity for Duncan to get acquanted with new teamates.
