My memory of him is in a reserves GF in 1973 kciking a goal from the centre of the MCG. What happened to him and anyone else see the game???

Russell Jenkinson, no.

Noel Jenkinson, yes.
Wore #37, 6'3" FB, a bit skinny for senior footy.
Played about 50 games in the mid to late 70s.
Was cleared to South Melbourne.

Can't remember him kicking any goals on GF day 73.
Think he was FB for the U19s that day.

I remember Russell Kelly.
He played as a FB/CHB for our 2nds & Prahran about 1977.

That may help.

1973 reserves grand final team

HB McMillan, Betts, Jackson
C W Barrot, Hewitt, Thompson
HF Dean, Alford, Lamb
F Taubert, Teasdale, Lawry

Noel Jenkinson then 15, 186, 79.5kg from Red Hills was full back for the U19's
Also in the team were Emmett Dunne 16, Cameron Clayton 15, and Stephen Parsons 16

Almost missed it on he opposite page to the U19's team was an add to join the police, featuring Sgt Allan Jeans, S Const Russell Cooke, Const Greg Parke and S Const Rexxy Hunt and the pay for a S Const (after 5 years) $6,587
A YEAR
Can hardly wait to join

I remember Noel Jenkinson doing really well in the old World of Sport Superkick competition, may have gone close to winning it one year.

Remember him quite well and met him on one occasion-thumping kick and seemed to find a home at fullback for the Tigers-surprised when we offloaded him to South

I think there was another Russell/? Jenkinson who played around about the same era or a fraction later who played in the u/19s & was originally from around Box Hill or Blackburn way. I will see if I can find out more from a mate of mine who knows/knew him.

I knew a Russell Jenkinson who I met in the 80's (?) in tassie who I believe may have played one or two games with an afl team, St Kilda comes to mind but the 80's were a very hazy period for me so not quite sure.

OK may have the name wrong ( (Jenkinson was correct at least!) and at 12 years of age COULD have been the U19s game. he came storming up the ground and kicked a long bomb from just behind the centre of the G. It sailed on and went through for a goal. Rousing stuff
