How dumb is Hawthorn Footballer Danny Jacobs??

He got caught drink driving and tried to tell everyone he was only sitting in the car listening to the radio and coz the keys were in the ignition he got done as he was deemed to be in control of the car.

Well well well now its turned out that was all one big fib and that he was driving the car and the police had been following him for some time and caught him running a red light.

If so, that's a VERY poor effort from Jacobs. To lie to the public and your own supporters like that is an extremely low act, IMO.

Very cowardly effort, if true.

Apparently there were other players in the car with him too
 
HAHAHAHA When I read his story I told my Hawthorn work-partner if this was real? And he goes that it is.....I go that is the worst lie I have ever heard.
A day later..........BUSTED.

I just heard some more on it, he was with Lance Piccone and he went thru 2 NO RIGHT TURN signs not red lights as i said earlier sorry.

He and Lance will make a statement in an hours time
 
LOL, this is the funniest thing I've heard to day. I listened to John Hook (Hawthorn footy manager) on SEN yesterday say, reiterate, repeat ad nauseum etc that Jacobs was not driving and did the right thing and there'll be no further action taken and blah blah blah.

I thought, why would the cops go up and breath test a bloke just sitting in his car. He must have attracted their attention somehow - and if you are waiting for a friend you sit in the passenger side even with the radio on.
He was always going to be found out, I am non plussed at Hawthorn's stupidity and gullibility - and Jacobs' for that matter.
 
I dont think it is Hawthorn stupidity or gullibility - Hawthorn was simply trusting the word of a player we thought trustworthy.

Unfortunate - but these things happen.

Hopefully we can have a good win this week and get things back on track like I know we can. :)

that's fair enough Jacqui but what about the rape allegation?

I definately blame the club for that. After all, the players where following the theme song "One for all and all for One".

(I shouldn't be joking about that, it is a very serious allegation).
 
Wanker....I had a good chuckle when I heard the original defense.

I feel very sorry for John Hook who was very vigerous boardering on angry that a Hawthorn player be thought of as a drink driver.

It is quite humerous, that no matter how old people get and how much people hero worship them, when the *smile* comes down, they will try and weasle their way out of trouble and deflect responsibility onto someone else....in this case, Jacobs tried to shift the blame to the cops in a backhanded way.

Jacobs - be a man and own up to your stupidity. You will get more credit that lying to the world..
 
How Dumb are the Hawthorn Football club is the question. I know for a fact we did well last week after all, we did beat hawthorn who they say will be the winner of the grand final not a bad result i dont think.
 
At the moment The boss - I am concerned with the Hawthorn footy club 2004. The allegations were in 1999 and there was apparently no evidence. The HFC co-operated with the Police both in Australia and the USA. That is all they needed to do. It was 5 years ago. I dont know why this needs to be brought up now. Unless something has come up to suggest a player of ours may be questioned now- I will let Steve Leighton deal with it.

Most footy clubs are going through bad patches off the field - we are no different. I am confident we can turn all this around eventually. A couple of wins would instill a bit of confidence.
 
Ok have just heard more on the story on SEN

Piccone was driving and wasnt drinking and felt ill so he let Jacobs take over the wheel, then Jacobs ran thru 2 no right turn signs and got police attention.

Both players have received a $5000 fine and Piccone has got a 1 week club suspension.

Jacobs hasnt been suspended coz he is injured which is crap they should suspend him when he is deemed fit to play when Piccone has copped a $5000 fine and a suspension for being a passenger in a car

Yeah the Jacobs suspension scenario smacks of a club that is in dissaray.

If they are serious they will suspend him for a game when he is fit and ready to play.

Glad it is them and not us.

BTW, how do we know that Lance wasn't pissed? The police would have only breath tested Jacobs. My bet is Lance was up to his eyeballs and only realised once he was behind the wheel.
 
My my, isn't Hawthorn in the poo. I knew that brown colour in their jumper meant something. Not only was Jacobs lying to the club, the police and us the pubic, a disgrace, but the penalty by Hawthorn was even more discgraceful. How can they justify suspending a player for next week, when he's not even fit to play!! And yet Piciaone is fit, and can't play next week. I agree that Piciaone deserves a penalty, but his is worse than Jacobs'. Amazing. The club believes what Piciaone did was worse than Jacobs. And then I had to listen to that idiot Brereton tow the party line on SEN this afternoon. It was so patheteic. What a rabble.
 
Yes I would have to say its about time they the media are talking about another side. I hope next Carlton beat Collingwood then maybe the pies will be in the news :)
 
If stupid Schwab had said that they will win the wooden spoon instead of the premiership, then maybe they would've started winning instead of losing.
