Hey guys!

I have heard about these kind of phone calls going around about 2 years ago, and I had my first one tonight, claiming to be from Microsoft and saying that your computers hard drive is already 90% corrupted. And needed remote control of your computer. Had to laugh at the guy, who became rude after I starting laughing saying it was a clear scam.

So if an Indian man with a clear fake name (My guys name was Steve Johnson! hahahah!) calls you claiming to be from Microsoft, either screw around with him, or just hang up.

Or more to the point, if anyone at all initiates contact with you about your computer or phone, treat it with extreme scepticism.

We have been getting one of these calls a week up until recently. I keep telling them we haven't got a computer, and they get
totally stuck for words, and then hang up ;D

They are great! :D If you get one, you'll be trying to hold back the laughs! Well worth it!

Not so great for the people that fall for them though. :( I reckon alot would.

How lovely of them! Was the call enjoyable, like mine?

We actually didn't get very far. I played a long for about a minute, but the lady on the other end obviously cottoned on to the fact I was stringing her along, and ended the call.

I stretched it out to 10 minutes once.

Had my XP box handy, so when he said they have my access code and need to verify, I said "fine, read it out to me and I'll tell you if it's right".

He then told me, no it's a hardware ID, because wait for it..... Microsoft actually make hardware and it's a secret consumers don't know about, and I was highlighting my ignorance of computers by not knowing this.
