The only player cleared on Tuesday night was Richmond’s young star Mark Coughlan who will be free to play in Sunday’s clash against the Western Bulldogs.
Coughlan was booked for charging Collingwood’s Andrew Williams during last Friday night’s season opener but successfully argued he had only been trying to shepherd for teammate Joel Bowden when he made contact with Williams.
While reporting umpire Matthew Head described Coughlan’s contact with Williams as “unreasonable and unnecessary” – Williams told the tribunal that he believed Coughlan had committed a fair shepherd.
