being a bit of a kit nerd, I thought there might be some interest in discussing team guernseys, clash strips and the way AFL enforce who wears what at games. some discussion points to start off:

1. Who has the best home strip?
2. Who has the best clash strip?
3. What recommendations do you have for teams to improve their uniform or what needs to be changed?
4. What rule does the AFL enforce re uniforms that annoys you the most?

1. Richmond
2. The old Fitzroy jumper Brisbane wear in Melbourne (I also like that South Melbourne style guernsey Sydney wore last week in Brisbane).
3. West Coast to dump that atrocious navy blue home jumper in favour of the royal blue with yellow wings.
4. the AFL enforcing the home team to wear white shorts (ie. NM last week).

GWS strip is vomit. Who was the brains that thought a sydney derby of red v orange would be a good idea. Great way to attract stdney people to the game.
Ports strip with the white back looks so much better and so much more Port. Look too much like carlton with black back.
The afl should ban west coast wearing their black and yellow jumpers.
Gold coast jumper is boring would look better if they splashed some royal / light blue into it.
Freo's is meh
Collingwood should be forced to wear their white base jumper more.
Brisbane and bulldogs look better without the cartoon animals.
The old fitzroy and south are great jumpers.
Essendon need to fix their sash it's crooked.
Saints should bring back white trim around sleeve.
Tigers by far the best.

GCS has the worst strip hands down. Watch it markedly change over the forthcoming years.

4. Worst rule - forcing clubs to wear their clash strips, when there is no clash.

A grade players/free agents seem reluctant to wear any version of the Richmond jumper.

Many Richmond listed players seem to lack pride in the jumper.

1. Richmond.
2. I always liked the sky blue one Carlton wore a few years back. Don't know why but there's something appealing about the double-blue colours - e.g. Sturt, Prahran.
3. As long as the clash jumper is radically different from the real one (i.e. if they played each other they should be very easily distinguished), all should be OK.
4. When they make a team wear their clash jumper, even if it is more like their opponent's home strip than their own home strip.

For reference, footyjumpers.com .

If I went for a club based on colours it would be the Ròos. Royal blue is my favourite colour to wear.

good point. no contrasting colours between the Sydney teams and QLD teams. kids do sometimes choose teams due to preferred colours and there isn't a massive difference in those areas.

for mine I thought the Collingwood v Carlton game on the weekend was a far bigger clash than us v the bombers.
