AFLW season is over for the Tiges . Last 2 rounds suspended. GF this weekend

Mercy rule invoked for the Tiger girls!!

Will be interesting to see what they do with the list for next season.

Conti, Monahan and Wakefield were by far the stand outs. Conti needs help in the midfield, we need some pressure forwards to keep the ball in our 50 and I reckon we need a key defender as we got taken apart by some of the key forwards (e.g. the Saints bird the other day)

If the club can’t afford AFLW it should be the first thing cut.

Controversial? Of course.
However the team is not profitable or professional in its infancy. If we cannot afford to extend facilities, how can we fund a women’s team?

After campaigning for a womens team for years and publicly showing their disappointment missing out on the first 2 attempts,, I can't see them dropping it after one season.

After the COVID is done with the AFL especially if they get forced to shut it down the loss of revenue will be big.

They might have to start charging admission to AFLW games next year, and I'm sure that will effect crowd numbers as its been free.

The AFL will still have to shell out equalisation cash to all clubs at years end also, especially so if the season gets knocked over.

I reckon it will be back, there will be an appetite for footy and hopefully COVID-19 will be sorted by then.

Also, hopefully, we will be a better team although not playing the VFLW is a big setback for us.

You might find current model is unworkable due to costings and revenue issues . Watch this space .
