Telstra off to yet another great start.

AFL Live subscribers cant watch the Coll v ESS game, god knows why not. The "24/7 help" ( which is crowd sourced and not provided by Telstra.....I'm mean why should they supply online help.....) is going into meltdown as everyone complains they can't view the game. But there are no solutions!

Unfortunately the same issue reared its head last year but I can't recall the solution that was eventually provided. Deleted the app and reinstalled, logged out and in again....no luck.

But terrible form by Telstra....yet again....

Maybe something to do with FOXTEL taking over? Had been some issues with the overseas subscriptions as well, but they're sorted now.

just paid the $15 for a month pass for telstra live top watch the game tonight.

when i try watch, it asked me for a username and password I was never given.

when i try to ring anyone or live chat, I wait for ages then get cut off from someone in myanmar who cant understand me.

how does this business model work?

How is it different from any other con, where your money is taken and no service is provided?

I think you have to register with Telstra. That's how you get a username and password. I'm just surprised (or not!) that you can pay your subscription without going though the registration process.

You on an iPad or phone? Dumb question maybe...

alls well that ends well.

I rego'd and watched on an ipad.

I ended up (reluctantly, cause I know Myanmar call centre ladies are just feeding their families) getting pretty snakey on a live online chat.

The desperation of a bloke about to miss a footy game seemed to translate culturally.

The game just magically started on my tablet about 10 seconds after the bounce.

Im still reluctant to give the AFL or Telstra any credit.

My AFL Live App has been working ok for 2 years but now has stopped. I am a Telstra subscriber so I haven't had to pay a subscription and the AFL site states that this offer still applies this year. Tried deleting the app and downloading it again. The blue AFL Live screen flashes up and then disappears and I get nothing. Yesterday was the first time I tried to get it to work this year. Watched it on Foxtel instead.

I couldnt get mine going on the ipad, but got it going on a phone. Its always nerve wracking. You pay your sub, you should be able to watch the game without smashing a tablet :pullhair

and its only preseason.

I heard there was some BS about nominating a device this year?

I might be totally wrong and misheard something, but there's a chance that is a possible explanation.

I stopped my subscription. Its only $90 a season but its a despicable service from telstra. Theyre still streaming in the "1/4 of an ipad" fashion.

The global version streams all Fox coverage and comes as part of the international membership package - it’s brilliant, and can be watched on as many devices as I want.

Yeah sorry, I didn't make that very clear that I was talking about the Australian Live pass.

Why is it that even though i pay for a subscription for this (which has been getting more expensive each year BTW) Telstra/AFL feel the need to whack a 20 second advertisement in before EACH video? Not just the match replays but for every single vid they produce?

Not only that, but i like to watch the replay on my phone a bit... yet whenever i am streaming this and receive a message/notification, the stream stops and is not capable of simply resuming where i was up to. The only option is to reload the whole thing - but not before i watch another 20 second advertisement!

Drives me bonkers.

Also, I hate Telstra. Whinge over

Did the 'mandatory update' to my AFL live APP on my ipad

and then it crashed the APP everytime I try to watch a live game.

*smile* updates. they should be called *smile* dates

anyone else experienced this problem and/or know a solution?

I’m the least tech savvy person I know. I don’t get adds and get full screen on my iPad mini. Dumb luck?
I think it might relate to size of screen, ie a phone gets full screen but an iPad gets the crappy 1/4 screen.

I tried to follow the AFL Live App yesterday when the AFL sent out a news alert. [Step 1]It comes up with a message that an update is required from the App store. When I click on the link to the App store, it informs me that all my Apps are up to date and then when I try to open that it sends me back to [Step 1].

Any ideas on how to escape that infinite loop and stay within the App?

Dunno if this will help .... had some glitch last week with the afl app when they rejigged the site so instead of just doing an update, I uninstalled it then did a reinstall right after.
The AFL live component automatically recognized me as a telstra customer and all back to normal. Good luck :)
