All credit to the entertainment value of the AFL in a season of drab and meaningless football games
they have given us unprecedented amusement.

Endless tragic comedy productions.

Laughable umpiring.
Tear jerking tribunal decisions.
Corrupt and incompetent management.
Chinese ballet.
Insider gambling.
Audience ejection for vocal involvement.
Foreign intrusion on the stage of combat.
Rule variations to prevent the masses from overthrowing the establishment.
The list of intriguing sub plots go on and on...life,death,love and money.

This is a tragic comedy bar none.
This is a true Italian opera.

AFL.....La Footi Balli.

Encore...

Free kick ..la differential
Gill and the au pair girl.
La AFLXi
Gari Elbows Abletti.

A fair bit of Faulty Towers about the AFL too. The pressures building on Gil, not far off turning into Basil. :D

I don't know about Beams and what he has been up to. Clearly the media have a job to do and if it is true that money is owed to (unlicensed) debt collectors or persons they may represent, there will be plenty more leaks until the debt is paid, Eddie notwithstanding.
The response to Stephenson though was also clearly pathetic. This was a very serious breach of AFL rules, which is much closer to the Bombers infraction(s) than anything since, and perhaps given Gills form in these situations was dealt with by agreement with the club, rather than by reference of the matter to the tribunal. Gill is a shmoozer who would rather have agreement between parties than allow for a supposedly independent tribunal to do its job.
He was prepared to let pinching go to the tribunal with a one week suspension imposed, but not a breach of betting rules, which involved a player in a self-help situation as a player, and see him get 10 weeks.
The man lacks the acumen and character to hold down the job and should be replaced.

While I am on Gill the 666 rule amendments are just becoming to be understood some 12 weeks since their inception. The AFL realising that there had been little planning and virtually no implementation at any level prior to the start of this season, decided to try and have them introduced in the VFL during the last few weeks of its 2018 season. They were told in no uncertain terms to bugger off.
And so the rules were introduced without even that limited trialing, and with no one having any real idea as to how that would play out.
The rule change has turned into a disaster for RFC with greater physical pressure on our forwards, and making it more difficult for smaller players, across the board.
We have unearthed some beauties this year but have an oversupply of smalls and lack of the big bodied mids who are now advantaged by the change.
And all this haste seemingly only because certain AFL execs were keen to receive credit for introducing change without knowing where that might lead.

La Grande Finale.

Moonlight at the Collesium and Emperor Gil riding in his golden chariot
does laps of the arena announcing "If the crowds are starving... Let them eat cake!"
