No, I'm not talking about Liam.

I just wanna give a bit of a bake to the Melbourne based tiger supporters.

Where are you?

50,000 at the G tonight is pathetic, especially considering how many Doggies were there.

We were louder, but not by lots.

What's the deal? Too many premierships? Can't be stuffed with ticketek? General COVID stress?

Tonight was one of the best games I've been to in our dynasty, finals excluded. Probably the best win I've experienced outside of finals.

Come from behind. Against the wall. Half the midfield out. No Dusty. Against an undefeated side. No Vlossy. Captain injured. Doggies on the rise. Friday night, pristine weather, prime time. Season defining. 50,000?

I get it, things are different. Some people doing it tough. But we shoulda had 80,000.

For those who just can't be stuffed, know that your absence is felt. By the club's bottom line and the players on the field.

So if you can, get there!

Come on people!

Agree CT - it was great to be there. Thought we would have had 70k at least.

I know someone who won’t go because of the COVID-related stuff.

Going to the footy is usually a comfortable experience for people. They need that comfortable familiarity and right now they don’t have that.

Transport, ticketing, contact tracing, when to wear a mask, what you have to do, will you get fined, what’s changed about the venue experience, etc. Too much uncertainty for a lot of people.

Yep, agree. I thought it looked crowded outside before the game, but once inside was disappointed.

Where are the fans who are not there, where are all our members?

Not being able to buy tickets until a few days before the game is frustrating but it isn't the end of the world. Gotta turn up.

All I'll say is if you weren't there, you missed out. Given the 2019 GF was a procession, best win I've seen in the flesh since the prelim that year. More than a few similarities about the games too.

Sheesh some people are hard to please.
The Dogs do not pull a big crowd. Never have done and probably never will do.
It was the third biggest Richmond v Dogs crowd EVER.

Biggest was 68,447 in round 11, 1974 at a time when they were second and we were fourth and reigning premiers.
Second was 56,998 in the last round of 2018 when we could not lose top spot.
52,402 last night is in third place. Us wobbling at 3-3 and in covid times. Not bad I think.

Put it this way - that 1974 game was the largest home and away crowd for any Dogs game.

I watch on TV for the old hard bitten Tiger supporter like me during the crowd shots. Getting more and more difficult to see any of us old farts in the crowd. Covid-19 frightens the proverbial out of me as it is a possible death sentence should I get it (Age & Heart Disease plus Covid-19, not a longevity good mix). Maybe that is why the crowd numbers are down.

Haven"t been since Round 1. Do have personal health issues. But I'm sure my experience in rd 1 doesnt encourage, where despite acquiring tickets just 5 minutes after opening, we were placed in the back row of great southern, couldnt see jack or Jack. EVERYONE was packed into the last few rows with hordes of empty seats below but told we're not allowed to swap seats due to COVID.

Fair enough too.

I totally get it for those in this situation.

Much easier to get a ticket and sit where you want to now.

I was able to choose the section and bay when I booked my ticket, with my GA membership for free with no upgrades.

And once in the bay, most people are just sitting where they want.

There was one whole wedge of level four without a single soul in it. Looked weird, but at least people are able to fill up the good seats first now.

That's good news I guess.

But it felt like the Doggies supporters did their bit last night. There were heaps of them. It seemed to me that it was a poor Tigers crowd.

And keep in mind, we were playing at the G. Our crowd number stats are going to look wonky always playing them at Marvel. It's been decades since we played them in a Friday night game at the G.

And this was the reigning premier vs an undefeated side.

Reckon you’re wrong on this one Coburg. Was up the back of the Southern at the Puntroadend pocket and it was filled to the brim. But whole sections were cordoned off with no one sitting in them -not the supporters fault. And when it came to singing the song after the game - you could tell two thirds of the crowd were Tigers.

And my first game back since late 2019. One of the best games I’ve been to going to the G for 55 years. And what a beautiful night for footy - felt like a privilege.

Last night was Good Friday for those of the Greek Serbian and Russian orthodox denomination

would of had a big impact on the turn out

The way the draw is now makes it hard for some people to get off work. Been a nurse I need to know more than 6 weeks out when the game is been played.

Ticketek are not releasing bays in order to fill up the bays they have released. So you have to sit up in the heavens at the back of lvl 4 when much better seats are available.
