Who are our current A-Graders?

In our premiership years we had at least 7. Arguably 10.

Right now 2 of our best aren't playing - Martin/Grimes - but how many A graders do we otherwise have?

Prestia?
Vlastuin?
Shai?

Broad is close. Cotchin is on the decline but still a warrior.

Lynch/Nank/Balta/Baker having average years.

Reiwoldt/Edwards no longer A-graders.

Unfortunately we no longer have enough elite talent to compete with the best. Not right now anyway.

I agree with this. In our premiership years the lesser named players still played their role. Now most of these players are also struggling.

Only the draft will fix that and astute trading.

But that takes time. We have to be patient.

Even more reason to plan for the future by playing the kids in the hope they are fast tracked to potential a graders and sadly start stamping other's papers

I think our premierships were based on some blue-chip players that came at very high draft picks - the height of which we probably don't want to get in the near future - not naturally anyway. Cotchin (2), Martin (3) even Deledio (1) - he never played in a premiership but stayed for 12 years and made us a competitive club that the likes of Grigg/Houli/Prestia/Caddy/Nankervis/Lynch would want to come to. Riewoldt (13) and Rance (18) were just bonuses.
So there is every chance we will have to really bottom out or trade for picks to replicate that process.
