Here are a few photos I took yesterday in case anyone is interested to see them. Sorry the quality isn't too crash hot, back to the drawing board when I get time.

Yesterday I was prouder than I've ever been in my life to be a Tigers supporter.

I got in the morning and decided I just had to be at Jack's funeral. I'm so glad I made the effort to drive down.

I won't say much about the actual service, others have done that already.

Suffice to say the day was one of a couple of tears and a few laughs. The service was very uplifting. A real celebration of the life of Jack Dyer. I don't think the telly coverage of the service really did justice to the wonderful eulogies by KB and Bobby. The whole congregation was laughing, and I for one felt so proud to be part of the club that great man was part of too.

I was lucky enough to sit in the church on the aisle so I could see everything. There was a who's who of football dignitaries up the front, but they were far out numbered by a sea of fans dressed in yellow and black.

At one stage of the service they asked everyone to show a token of friendship to all those around them. People shook hands, hugged and kissed.

It made me think of the people on this site. Strangers with different personalities and viewpoints, but with one thing in common. The love of the Richmond Football Club.

It was great to be part of the spontaneous and heartfelt applause as the hearse drove Jack away. Amazing to feel so happy and proud, yet so sad at the same time.

Some highlights of the day for me were walking back to Punt Road with Bowser, Flea and Bondy. Bondy was my favourite player until we traded him. I told him to come home. I don't like seeing him in Dogs colours, ha.

Had a bit of a talk to a couple of other favourite Tigers, Tommy Hafey and Leon Daphne.

Anyway enough of that.

Inside the Jack’s funeral program there is one final word.

In bold print it simply says

"TIGERLAND"

Made me think it’s some spiritual place where part of all of us belongs.

It’s so important we continue the work Jack Dyer did to make sure Richmond didn’t go into extinction way back then.

Whether buying membership, talking about the team, going to games, buying raffle tickets, not allowing the club to get too comfortable in mediocrity etc. However we do it, it’s not about judging what others do, but about doing everything we can ourselves to help make the Mighty Tigers a force to be reckoned with again.

EAT ‘EM ALIVE

That funeral program reminded me of keepsakes. (A guy on the train wanted to pay $100 for it.)

I went into the HeraldSun office and got the laminated poster from yesterday's paper. It's the page that was in the paper, so there's newsprint on the back. It looks really good though, if anyone was wondering about getting one.
They are happy to mail them too if you can't get to their shop personally.

Also at Punt Road Clinton Casey said the club had put together a video on Jack for sale as well.

Thanks for showing us the photos they look really good. I'm so disappointed that i couldn't get in their yesterday, but seeing the photo's and reading everyone's posts I can imagine how it must of felt. I got the poster out of the sun yesterday and my husband went out got it laminated today for my daughter. She is only 7 and this week has become Jack Dyer obsessed my dad thinks i've brainwashed her but i haven't. She keeps asking questions about him which some i can't explain as i never saw him play but know all about the legend, only times like these i wish my grandfather was alive so he could tell the tales to her.

I've made a scrap book up with all the newspaper clippings out of the papers this week and printed off a copy of the photo that i sent you so she could stick that in the book as well. So she loves that and has taken it off to school today for show and tell.

Its great to know we've got another tiger member coming on board and i hope she can join in heaps of success with all of us from now on!!

P.S. don't know why email didn't work i'll have to check it out.

Rosy, I was walking back up Rowena Parade yesterday and saw Bond, Flea, and Bowser walking down to the G. All three of them had their phone's out, and were either turning them back on or making phone calls.

I wouyld've seen you, but don't remember. Damn, I was so close to meeting the "ROSY" ;D ;D

I was thinking what a snob you were not waving to me too Balmy. ;D

Speaking of Balmey, I was standing beside him for a while. What a mountain of a man, I got a crick in my neck looking up at him. Anyway time he came home too.
