Simmonds Brown Richardson & Cousins?

I think the thoughts have been to keep Richo & Cousins but I see Simmonds had 22 hit outs tonight & Brown 10 contested possesions do all 4 have something to offer still & would it be better to off load some of the under performing middle rung players like Polo Hughes Oakley-Nicholls Pettifer Pattison with Bowden & Johnson already gone?

Sentiment at this club has turned them into a rabble!!!

Goodbye to them ALL!!!!

I think Simmonds is gone but there are some tough decisions for the new coach when he arrives - retain the old proven players who are on the slide or the young blokes who have failed at every opportunity but may improve? One things is for sure, from many here no matter what is done it will be the wrong decision!

Goodbye to Simmo. Brown worked harder than usual and had an OK game. Will no doubt pull up very sore. Though others disagree, I think he's worth something at the trade table.

Personally, if we're starting to get serious I would get rid of them all but Cousins. Won't happen though.

sheesh nathan brown looked slow and under pressure all night.if he was smart he would retire.

cousins will stay. so will richo for one more yr.as there is no one else to give riewoldt and post a hand that is if post plays forward.

simmonds would like to see him retire but they dont have an experienced ruckman on the list. graham isnt up to it neither is pattison vickery and browne will need a hand from somewhere. in fact its down right rude to be playing either kid for to many games. for this reason we may see simmonds go around one more yr. if he does go i think we have to chase a mature replacement.

get rid of all of them except cuz.

bye bye simmo, bye bye browny, bye bye bowden, bye bye richo, bye bye johnno.

give cuz no, 17. bye bye and PO chris newman. you're an embarrassment to the no. 17

I can't believe how Simmonds reckons he's still worth keeping.
its a case of damned if we do damned if we dont imo. we have to keep some sort of structure and have some players with experience and size around our kids. as much as i would like to see all 30 yr olds go it cant be done in one go.

reality says 3 or perhaps four of the oldies will go this yr and there would be a good chance the remaining two or three will go the following yr.

if we go youth and we take 7 to 11 kids and turn over all the older players the kids will get slaughtered. we have to develop and protect our younger players while at the same time fast track them.

imo brown is gone but if simmonds goes we have to replace him with a mature ruckman. looks to me there may be a few we could target. jacobs at carlton campbell at hawthorn taylor at hawthorn both these blokes will be on thin ice with renouf and bailey coming thru. the question has to be asked though do we want to go down the recycled path, not if we can help it.

I would go Jacobs out of that lot, especially since he's a rookie... would cost next to nothing to get him. Carlton have Warnock, Hampson and Kruezer. The only problem would be he's only about 21/22ish so not exactly 'mature' but still he looked decent in his few games this year. Robbie Campbelll...maybe but Hawks might want too much.

Simmonds is hopeless so it's best he goes and we trade for mid-20s ruckman who needs to break into the seniors (a bit like Morton's situation at WC).

A ruckman would be the only 'reject/recycled' player I'd accept as a trade. I always thought Robert Campbell would've been good to pick up.

my god claw, whats going on? you're saying 3 or 4 30+ have to go. you're being way, way too soft. i never thought i would see the day that my darksider opinion passes you by... i believe it should be 5, but more realistically, it will be 4 because the club doesn't have the balls to retire richo.

ive already given reasons why simmonds may be kept ive said i would like to see him retire. ive said i want brown gone and in an ideal world i would not hesitate to give richo the flick.

the state of the list has got to the stage that if we flick richo we will have to go after a mature key forward to help our kids and give us some cover in the key posts. we cant just throw the kids in all yr and leave em to it the injury room by half yr will be worse than perth hospital emergency dept on a friday night. all im saying is if we delist them all bar cousins we are going to have to go down the recycle path are we prepared to do that.

jesus, i disagree completely. i reckon there is enough potential in the current list for us to get by next year if we delilst the 5 30+ players. lets face it, we've got by in the past 10 weeks. 2.5 wins with a caretaker coach who has no idea. why not continue down that path?

and a mature key forward? why not give post 22 games next year?
