The Blues.

It still confounds me that the name of the style of music I love the most belongs the team I hate the most.

Last year, after spending almost a decade on the floor of the AFL ladder, Carlton re-emerged to play in finals.
We've seen Carlton benefit by repeated priority and early picks almost every season since its demise.
It has also used early picks & a player derived from an early pick to acquire aruably the best player in the league.
To me, Carlton have been plepared to play a long strategic game to make great long term gain.
It'll be interesting to see how they go.

Their list is as follows:

Clearly Carlton have made the finals with nearly all of their core players in the developing & junior age groups.
And they have a number of stars still in the junior group.

To me, their long term future looks assured.
They've made the finals with a relatively young group.
They still need to overcome the problem of genuine key forwards.
But, generally, their best looks ahead of them and they're already playing finals.
2010 looks to have them being around the possible marginal finalists again, until they sort out their key forwards.

Whether the loss of Fevola affects them in 2010, or not, the long term future of Carlton looks good.

Hmm I look at their list and think they are woefully inadequate in the KPP area, probably the worst in the comp, even in the long term.
