We didn't look at Geelong last year.
If we had, we might have seen a couple of the chinks that were exposed on GF day, last year. But, then again, it's easy to talk retrospectively.

As we can see it looks very good & even and there is no doubt that Geelong will perform strongly in 2009.
However CHF still remains a problem for them and with McKenna & Simpson seemingly not yet ready, much will still rely on both Mooney & Ottens, now twilighters, to fill the key competitive marking positions.
We remember the great job Nathan Ablett performed in filling that hole in 2007.

Also, their smaller running backs are either getting long in the teeth or still in teenage years. Which may be why the Hawthorn mosquito fleet cut them up in the 2nd half of that big game.
For Geelong the last 2 years is now beginning to take them into the back end of their window.
Much will depend on how quickly they can get their youngens up playing top level AFL.
Eight games again at their favourite Kardinia Park gives them a good base to begin with.
