Everytime I look at the Westcoast list I shake my head. What have they done to this great team?
I know they've had their cultural problems. I know that Judd, Cousins & Gardiner have left the team and others have retired.
But how many inexperienced players can you have on one list?
And the list looks SO unbalanced.
The positional depth is as follows:
What happened to Westcoast's magnificent mosquito fleet they had when they were on top?
They now have only 3 players below 180cm. They have a couple of rookie 180cm players, but where are their young elite smalls?
Is Westcoast trying to monopolize the world supply of tall-mediums?
Most teams have 10-12 of these. Westcoast has 16. Richmond at its worst got up around 16. Even Geelong, a relatively tall list, has 10.
So many tall HBFs too. (Had to throw a couple of them into a BP.)
Some credit to them that they are trying to develop some young kpps but they'll take years to develop.
In summary, Westcoast not only have to deal with rebuilding a list but also that their list structure is way out of whack.
Trevor Woodhouse, if he's still there, is on dangerous territory at the moment.
