Unless a miracle occurs it is obvious that the RFC will have a new coach in 2005. The question is how many years should he be signed up for?
Going by the threads on the PRE forum success needs to be found quickly (ie. 2 to 3 years) otherwise 'the mob' will be calling for 'the coach to be sacked' and 'all dud players to be delisted'.
IMO if we manage to successfully court a senior coach with experience then a longer term contract should be offered and give the coach time to 'put his team together' from draft picks (either 'grow' young players or sign 'opposition star players out of contract').
This may mean waiting for 4 to 5 years for a successful team to be 'built' that would start a 'winning dynasty' ala the sixties and seventies.
