I am sure it has been the same story every year for the last 20+.
We are always up the top when it comes to crowd numbers.

If only, the club could get their crap together and get a decent coach who can identify and develop young talent and consequently bring us long term success, we would have 40,000 members and would have millions in the bank.
IF ONLY!!!

Our time will come
I think in 5 years time
but we have 30,000 in 2 year
35,000 in 4 year
40,000 in 5 year
and be number one in attendances numbers in 3 year times
if we start to develop young talent and get a decent coach
which i think we can do ;)

There's a hell of a lot going for this club, but the one gaping hole is the on-field performances. Once these turn around you'll be amazed how many other problems will be solved.

You're nothing in AFL if you're not consistently competing in finals and winning flags.

Tigerjoe that is what is even more frustrating about being a richmond supporter. So much wasted potential. The Football Department has a lot to answer for - surely the knowledge of the tiger market ( huge ) would be enough for administration not to tolerate uncompetitive and incompetently lead teams ( every season except 1995 & 2001 ). I'm sick of the media labelling tiger supporters as fickle. We maybe divided on what or who is to blame, but we are not divided on the love of our club or putting our bums on seats for the last 22 seasons.
I knew Zantuck wouldn't play this week - and this is symptomatic of the frawley admin. - But we've seen it before from previous coaches like walls and geishen. Notice how the bombers and sheedy have already done some rebuilding and topping up - lovett murray, mcphee, bolton, hille, murphy, sheedy also knows ewhat his players can and can't do - so you won't see murphy spending 120 minutes in defence on a key forward who is fast and can damage him the other way - simply because he is a loose player - We could learn from this by the way we use bowden - he should always be centre or forward of the centre with a license to score not defend. He has no defensive skills - but he does have something to offer - this poor use and knowedge of our own players by our coaches have been going since northey left!!! Our list is strong enough to be super competitive every week and this alone would build our crowd figures even further and more importantly make us all feel proud.

Our attendances are sensational given how we've been playing and who and where we've played. Fact is we've only played twice at the MCG and the only high drawing teams we've played against thus far are Collingwood and the Saints.

Imagine if we were playing well!

Maybe Richmond's greatest strength (huge dormant supporter base) has also been its greatest weakness?

Teams like the Kangaroos & Bulldogs have to have a lean, mean administration and perform well on the field. Otherwise they know they're history.

Richmond has wasted an opportunity to be a power house club for far too long. If we ever get our act together we'll top that attendance figure and leave poor Eddie and his humble pies to suck on their wooden spoon.
